About Lucas Strobe Systems
Lucas Strobe Systems (LSS) was founded by Mark Lucas, an avid professional and recreational photographer for nearly 40 years. The company was founded on the premise that lighting is one of the most important elements of photography.
Based on his experience, Lucas believes that, while strobes and bracket systems have evolved significantly through the years, there is still room for innovation and improvement. Lucas Strobe Systems is focused on developing bracket and lighting solutions for the professional and recreational market.
The company’s first product, the Macro Flash Bracket, offers macro photographers a new stable yet flexible platform to light even the smallest of objects with startling clarity.

Mark Lucas Biography
Mark Lucas is a photographer who simply enjoys making images. He’s kept a camera nearby since he was smitten by photography in high school and his experiences behind the lens have been wide-ranging.
In the 1970s, Lucas began a career in law enforcement. This led to his involvement with crime scene photography and traffic accident documentation. Some of his images have been used in training at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
Lucas founded a portrait and wedding studio in Franklin, Tennessee in the early 1990s and, while he enjoyed studio work, he found it confining. Eventually, he founded
www.sportpix.com, a company that focused on high school, collegiate and professional sports photography. The basis of this company was the early digital image age. Photos were posted online and directly sold through the website.
Today, Lucas is an avid recreational photographer who is continuously discovering new applications. It was his experimentation with macro photography which led him to the understanding of the limitations of current lighting systems. Now, with the launch of Lucas Strobe Systems and the introduction of the Macro Flash Bracket, Lucas is moving into the next phase of his photography journey.
